About Laura Leigh Chats

I have the privilege of serving Jesus through the ministries of encouragement and teaching. Most everything I will write about comes from perspectives formed by the Holy Scriptures, life with others, and the sanctifying work of God in my life. I cannot avoid the inner promptings of God’s Spirit to make this happen.

I spend my days walking with people in discipleship, including men, women, and those I help lead. I love the Church. She is hurting in many ways, but she is still the body of Jesus Christ.

I am honored and very grateful to be in a marriage I want with a man I want. I vowed to him, and before God, that I would live with my walls down and my heart open. We are two imperfect people doing life together.

I married at 42, and we conceived two children that we were not able to carry. We are childless and have had to give that desire back to God.

A few years into our marriage, we became caregivers to my mother as she lived with a significant disability. For nearly four years, we cared for her daily needs. That season taught us a great deal about ourselves and about both the beauty and the cost of sacrificial love. It was, in every sense, a refining fire for us.

I will talk about it all in this blog. You will see into my brain and heart, I suppose.

I love music. I have spent much of my life playing instruments, creating, and making music. I love musical worship and worship with the Word. I enjoy long coffee times with friends and open, non-shaming exchanges of ideas. I may appear to be very public with my life because of what I share, but I feel very private in my inner processes.

Come and join me in these chats. I hope you will take time to comment on the blog. It gets conversations going. Our current social media situation makes us spectators. Eventually, I hope this effort builds discussion and responsiveness. My prayer is that this little blog would challenge, refresh, and build us.
