About Laura Leigh Chats

I am a woman of a certain age who has the privilege of serving Jesus through the ministries of encouragement and teaching. Most everything I will write about comes from perspectives formed by the Holy Scriptures, life with others, and the sanctifying work of God in my life. I cannot avoid the inner promptings of God’s Spirit to make this happen.

I spend my days discipling women and doing that full-time.  I love the Church. She is hurting, but she is the body of Jesus Christ.

I am honored and so very lucky to be in a marriage I want with a man I want. I vowed to him (and before God) that I would live with my walls down and my heart open. We are two, imperfect people doing life together.

I married at 42-years old and we conceived two children that we know of that we were not able to carry. We are childless and have had to give that specific dream back to God. Just four-years into our marriage we became caregivers to my  mother who was significantly disabled. This particular journey with her was almost four-years long. We learned a lot about ourselves and about the joys and ugliness of sacrificial and exhausting self-giving. It was truly a refining fire for both of us.

I’ll talk about it all in this blog. You’ll see into my brain and heart, I suppose.

I love music and making music, musical worship and worship with the Word. I enjoy long coffee times with friends and open, non-shaming exchanges of ideas. I appear to be very public with my life because of what I share, but I feel very private in my inner processes.

Come and join me in these chats. I hope you’ll  take time to comment in the blog. It gets conversations going.  Our current social media situation makes us spectators. Eventually, I hope this effort builds discussions and responsiveness. My prayer is that this little blog would challenge, refresh and build us.
